Crystal Calderoni

Crystal’s love affair with this magical pueblo began in the 1970s when she and her iconic mother/painter, Merry Calderoni, left Venezuela to study art at the Bellas Artes and El Instituto. San Miguel was still a ghost town; donkeys carried people like the transporting Ubers of this now multicultural-art-infused chic world heritage site. Subsequently, her family decided to leave the states and purchased a building in our Centro Histórico, which was remodeled and converted into Casa Calderoni, a long-standing successful landmark of SMA. Crystal graduated from UT-Texas with honors and moved here in 2005, where she embarked on her real estate career, working alongside her father at Calderoni Properties, which brokered the most prestigious San Miguel property transactions; including the former Villa Jacaranda, which underwent major reconstruction efforts and has now transformed into the prestigious and world-renowned 5-star Hotel Matilda. Another major achievement for Calderoni Properties was the representation of Mexico City-based sellers for the 14-acre Aristos Hotel site, which sold to a USA developer. Her father, Ben, was instrumental in securing all permits in record time that led to the resale of this property to the Aspen Group, who developed the property into the Artesana Villas and 5-star Hotel Rosewood San Miguel.
